So no, unless you’re a black man, the academy and the rest of the entire fucking world doesn’t give a fuck if you beat or rape a woman or girl. And this is really fucking rich coming from a guy who raped Anna Faris on screen for a joke. But he’s white so it’s ok. And hilarious.

I don’t know why this bothers me so much. I think it’s the logic. Maybe because two of the counterexamples are dubious and one person outright apologized and actually demonstrates contrition about this stupid shit he’s done in his life. Maybe because it’s not that Chris Brown is black, but because he’s an idiot who hasn’t shown that he actually feels bad as demonstrated by that lovely twitter post following the Grammy’s. Maybe because I’m a black woman who has beat up another woman, but if I said the same thing it would magically be “not” racist.

I don’t know. I get the point, but take into account that it’s not just a black and white issue. It’s an everybody issue. There’s domestic abuse and rape in all cultures and ethnicities. Everyone should be held accountable. You know what I mean?
